An Insurance and Financial Services Company sought to automate processes in the Oracle Cloud. In order to deliver faster and more efficient testing for the Oracle Cloud quarterly release (which involves comparing datasets between the Production and Test Oracle instances), Cloudworks leveraged the automation power of UiPath, paired with Microsoft Excel. The scope of the project involved Oracle upgrade testing for:

  • Accounts Payable (AP) Data: AP invoice data from Oracle Inbound Integrations for source system
  • Financial Accounting Hub (FAH) Data: General Ledger data from Oracle FAH issues

Issues

  • Once there is a new Oracle release, there is a small window available to perform testing
  • The testing process is labor intensive and extremely time-consuming

Actions

  • Cloudworks developed an RPA solution using UiPath unattended robots and Orchestrator to automate these processes
  • This solution is paired with a robust custom-built Excel macro developed by Cloudworks to perform the data comparison
  • The output results allow humans to focus on exceptions/anomalies
