A Construction Materials Company with over sixty locations in North America produces high-quality aggregates, paving asphalt, and ready-mix concrete and operates a network of retail landscape centers. The client sought to automate the AP Process for raw materials to increase efficiency and reduce human error by leveraging the automation power of UiPath.

Issues

Raw material purchase orders must be matched to the ticket number (packing slip, bill of lading, etc.) in the payable’s entry process.
The ticket is then created as a receipt in Oracle via the OnBase integration.
Currently, AP manually matches the invoice information ticket number to the packing slip.
Missing ticket information is stored in an Excel workbook for both AP and Buyers to use to communicate that the missing information issue has been resolved.
This is a highly manual and tedious process and often the match is not able to be completed due to missing tickets

Actions

Cloudworks developed a scalable Robotic Process Automation (RPA) product to automate this process using unattended robots and Orchestrator.
This solution uses the latest AI Fabric & Document Understanding components of UiPath, allowing humans to work in tandem with the robots.
The automation was built with robust exception management and reporting to support the solution.
